American Gods Actress Yetide Badaki to Appear at RESPECT: Women’s Podfest Festival with The Radical Geeks

The Radical Geeks are thrilled to announce that actress, writer, and producer Yetide Badaki (American Gods, This is Us) will be joining co-hosts Angélique Roché and Karama Horne in Philadelphia on August 24 for a special “Late Night Show” segment from 9pm-9:45pm during the RESPECT: Women’s Podfest Festival at Amalgam Comics and Coffee in Philadelphia, PA. Tickets available here.

The RESPECT: Women’s Podfest Festival is the brainchild of Len Webb, producer of The Black Tribbles, Philadelphia’s award-winning #1 geek radio show and podcast. His mom, Bea Webb, taught cosmetology to a group of young men and then went on to open a shop called Him for Her. With the passing of his mom, last year, Len decided to pay tribute to his mother’s innovative business spirit and continue the matriarch’s legacy by producing the inaugural RESPECT: Women’s Podcast Festival.

The first annual RESPECT: Women’s Podcast Festival will be happening on August 24-25th at Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse, 2578 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. The festival aims to bring attention to and celebrate the varied voices and content women bring to podcast platforms. As marginalized groups increase their influence and presence in today’s media, a festival like this one is definitely needed to show respect and appreciation for their contributions and to help bolster their efforts.

The event kicks off at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 23rd. The Friday Night Kickoff! gives folks the opportunity to eat, drink and mingle with the festival’s featured podcasters. The weekend will continue, Saturday and Sunday, with women-led podcasts presenting diverse content, live music performances, festival vendors, giveaways and charitable actions.

To learn more about the festival and who else is podcasting visit RESPECT: Women’s Podcast Festival. There is free admission for all daytime podcast tapings. However, there is a cost both evening events. The Friday Night Kickoff tickets can be purchased here. Tickets to the “Late Night Show” on Saturday (this is when our show is) can be purchased HERE.
