Author Karama Horne (@theblerdgurl) is a Brooklyn, NY based culture journalist, writer, podcaster, host and critic parked at the intersection of geekdom and diversity. Karama has hosted red carpets, livestreams and comic convention panels from New York to San Diego and was featured in USA Today, The New York Times, The Guardian, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Root. Karama is also the founder of THEBLERDGURL® a site and podcast highlighting creators of color in genre entertainment.
Karama has bylines at Marvel, Rotten Tomatoes, NERDIST, Mashable, SYFYWIRE, and The Wrap. and recently co-curated the sequential art exhibit “The Artist’s Experience: From Brotherman to Batman” at the Society of Illustrators in New York. She is also the co-host of the Pop Paranormal podcast by TRVL Channel.
