I had the pleasure of attending Khemfest Comic Con in Newark, NJ last weekend. Only in its third year, Khemfest was created by Naseed Gifted (PBSoldier) and is held at Central high School in Newark, NJ, where Gifted serves as Vice-Principal.
Despite the weather, many people, parents and children included, did attend the event and enjoyed cosplay, comic books, art, and panels relevant to comics, animation as well as a behind-the-scenes look at shows like Luke Cage. I even moderated a panel about Black Women in Comics. (Check out Iamblackscifi.com for coverage of that).
