I always have fun in my interviews at conventions, but this year I have to say I’m having a blast. Emerald City Comic Con was last month and I got to talk to some AMAZING people on the livestage for SYFY Wire. Like Rob Sheridan, former artistic director for Nine Inch Nails who has a new comic out called High Level (it’s stunning). Creators David F. Walker and Sanford Greene sat down with me to discuss Bitter Root and Hope Nicholson and her creatives from Bedside Press hung out with me too! (That interview made me want to move to Canada). But the most fun discussion I had, was with voice actors Christopher Sabat and Colleen Clinkenbeard about their roles as All Might and Momo as the English voice cast of the hit anime series My Hero Academia.
Colleen is also the show’s English language ADR director, so she actually hired all of the voice talent! Together they’ve voiced hundreds of characters in anime. In fact, before MHA, Sabat was primarily known as the voices of Vegeta, Piccolo and Yamcha in Dragon Ball, rmstrong on Full Metal Alchemist and Zoro on One Piece. Colleen is known for lending her voice to Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) and Riza Hawkeye (Full Metal Alchemist) among others.
We talked about the show as a phenomenon, the fans and even the My Hero Academia: Two Heroes movie. (Chris has a theory about Dave and All Might’s relationship that almost broke me.) Watch the FULL interview below
