We’ll be discussing her debut novel, “How to Be a Better Adult,” and her journey towards writing it. Aye shares her inspiration for the book, drawing from her experiences in corporate America. She also talks about her personal growth and how it led her to explore her passion for writing fiction. We touch on the concept of “soft life” and how capitalism has distorted the idea of self-care. We also discuss the cultural expectations placed on Black women to be caretakers and how it can lead to neglecting one’s own needs.
