One of the highlights of New York Comic Con for me was being able to sit and have a conversation with triple Hugo Award Winner and creator of the Broken Earth Series N.K. Jemisin.(I am currently posting this from the afterlife). She’s working on a new comic throgh DC.YoungAnimal called Far Sector, based within the Green Lantern universe and drawn by Jamal Campbell (Naomi/DC, The Immortal Nadia Greene). Not only is she a force within the fantasy fiction writing community (and on social media). She’s also a huge geek and Angel fan, which I found out backstage at NYCC when she was fingerling over J. August Richards (Gunn) who had just come offstage from the Angel reunion panel .

I saw it on Things From Another World Far Sector #1 (of 12)

The comic is about Sojourner “Jo” Mullein, a former NYPD cop turn Green Lantern whose first assignment is being stationed on a far planet that has eradicated emotion like a virus. Until a series of “crimes of passion” occur. Jo is brought in to investigate, because she is the only one in the sector that has the emotional wherewithall to investigate the crimes and uncovers an even larger mystery. Watch the interview below.
