More “Across the Spider-Verse interviews!” ! In addition to my interview with Lord and Miller for Rotten Tomatoes, I also spoke with Brian Tyree Henry, the voice behind Jefferson Davis, and Lauren Vélez, the voice of Rio Morales, who shared their thoughts on the film’s emotional resonance. The film delves into the changes within Miles Morales’ household as he tries to balance school and home with his secret life as Spider-Man. It’s clear Miles has grown since “Spider-Man” Into the Spider-Verse” and so has his relationship with his parents.
Vélez expressed her enthusiasm for the film and the expansion of Rio’s character, stating, “I love that the chemistry of what this Morales family is, is jumping off the screen for people.” Henry also discussed his deep connection to the characters, stating, “I feel that they are so in touch with who these characters are.”
They even shared a hilarious moment about which Spider-Man characters they’d be willing to play.
“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is out now in theaters.
