4th Annual Khem Comic Book Fest Returns to Newark With Special Guests
NEWARK, New Jersey – April 10th, 2018 – This Saturday, April 14th, the Khem Comic Book Festival returns to Newark, NJ at Central High School. The annual convention, now in its fourth year, covers a wide array of entertainment, including comics, film, video games, and books. This year the festival will also include a special panel dedicated to Marvel’s Black Panther Movie featuring members of the hit movie’s stunt team Niahlah Hope and Jeremy Sample, as well as Marija Abney who played a member the Dora Milaje. The Black Panther’s All-Female Guard in the record-breaking Marvel film. Tickets can be purchased at khemfest.com
Other Special Guests Include: Brother G (Shades of Memnon) Keynote Speaker, Naseed Gifted (P.B.Soldier), Regine Sawyer (Women in Comics NYC), Micheline Hess (Malice In Ovenland), MSHINDO KUUMBA (Indigo) and Akinseye Brown (Sokoya Comics) and many more.
The day is packed with entertainment and activities: Comic Book/Education workshops, a marketplace, a comic book library, music performances, face painting and panel discussions with industry professionals. There will also be screenings of creative films, documentaries, and animation.
The goal of Khemfest is to use comic books, films and popular culture to develop youth literacy and expression through S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology Engineering, Arts and Math). All proceeds from the Khem Comic Book Fest will go to the Central High School Pre-Engineering Academy.
The Khem Comic Book Fest will be held on April 14th, 2018 at Central High School 246 18th Ave. Newark, NJ 07108 from 11am to 7pm. The event is free for Kids and Adults pay $10 admission.
