Although the Blu-Ray of Black Panther isn’t available until May 15, Black Panther is now streaming on Amazon Prime. You can now own it and the behind-the-scenes footage and watch them every day if you so choose. Back in February I was lucky enough to cover the Black Panther premiere for SYFY Wire and I even got to ask a question at the press junket (that’s me with the comicbook question at about 27:28) Well, one of the conversations that I had during that time was with actress, writer, playwright and activist, Danai Gurira, who plays Okoye, the general of the Dora Milaje, and the Royal Family’s personal guard in Black Panther. Before that, most people knew her as zombie assassin Michonne on The Walking Dead. But many don’t realize that Gurira wrote a Tony Award-winning play, was born in Iowa, was raised in Zimbabwe, or is an activist and champion for girls and women around the world. I got a chance to talk to her about what it means to play such a powerful role at such a powerful time in a cast with so many powerful women. READ IT HERE.
